On 24 October 2022, Nick Sherman published a ghostly origins story for the Boneyfiddle name, one which features his original illustrations, juxtaposed with historical advertisements that appeared in the Portsmouth Daily Times.
"How the Boneyfiddler Got Its Bones" included a preface by Andrew Feight, the creator and founding editor of the Scioto Historical Project, which tells the history of the famous neighborhood's nickname.
"How the Boneyfiddler Got Its Bones" is available for purchase, with 20% of proceeds donated to the Shawnee State University Development Foundation's Center for Public History Fund.
